Our History

So here’s the portion where we tell you a little bit about ourselves—a little history lesson if you will.

Sports enthusiast and self-proclaimed jam band aficionado, John Salem, founded Telemedia in 1983. He could most accurately be referred to by the phrase “corporate hippie,” (yes, we’re aware that’s an oxymoron, but trust us…it’s spot on.)

Telemedia began as a commercial production company that specialized in local and regional businesses. However, as word of our talents grew, so did our customer base…which now includes clients from all across the country.

In addition to commercials, Telemedia has also expanded to include all facets of multimedia design, such as DVD authoring and graphic design. We’ve pioneered quite a few projects in the areas of tourist marketing and sports media relations. We were the first production company in the area to begin filming in High-Definition. In fact, we were the first production company in the area, period.

Our Philosophy

We don’t personally care for industry “buzz words,” but yes, we do have all of the “cutting-edge,” “innovative,” “outside-the-box” design tools that help creative a “visionary” look that “will get you noticed.” All companies have that. It’s not our computers or software that makes us unique…it’s the people who are running them.

We believe that you should do what you love for a living, and that’s a philosophy that we cling to dearly. Every business, no matter how big or small, began as someone’s dream. Sometimes you sacrifice everything that’s logical just so there’s a fighting chance of your dream becoming a profitable reality. We understand and applaud that. And if we can help you reach your goals, then we pull every talent out of our little hat to make it so.

Our Future

As for the future of Telemedia? Some of us will see some amazing live music over the summer. Some of us are getting married. Some of us are reuniting with loved ones who are fighting overseas…and are then getting married. All of us will continue to grow and create, and we hope that you’ll grow and create with us.
